The Bunkhouse Lodge

The lodge sleeps 20 and offers homely accommodation for groups as well as families and individuals. It comprises of 5 separate bunk rooms each containing 4 beds. There are 3 communal shower and toilet rooms with one of the bedrooms having en-suite facilities, which offer great value.
We offer accommodation to customers within the activity centre and non activity uses alike. The lodge is open all year round. Check out our Festive deals over the Christmas and New Year period.
Not only do you have access to all the activities within the centre, but there is also a vast array of things to do in the surrounding area. There are walks on the Southern upland way. Alternatively, you could check out the red kite trail around Loch ken. Everything is right on our doorstep.
We are also central to 5 of the 7Stanes, each within a 30 minute drive. If you're looking for a hub from which to base a mountain bike trip then look no further. We have drying facilities on site, secure storage, bike wash facilities and a bike stand for servicing your bike.

Facilities
The lodge has a communal area for eating and socialising. This includes a lounge and T.V. area, dining table and fully equipped kitchen.
There is a DVD and video player in the lounge. The kitchen has ample pots, pans and crockery. Should you require additional equipment we can provide this from the Activity Centre kitchen.
For self catering users, the closest supermarket is in Castle Douglas which is a 10 mile drive. It is best to do a shop on your journey up. There are smaller shops in the locality for those forgotten items.

Sleeping quarters
Our 5 bedrooms are laid out in much the same way. Each room sleeps four people in two bunk beds. There is ample storage within the rooms.
One of the 4 rooms is en-suite. This is booked out on a first come first serve basis. The other 4 rooms share 3 toilets and shower rooms spread out with the lodge.
In addition, the activity centre has large shower and changing rooms which are accessible all night. Alternative overflow accommodation is also available for larger groups.

Ideal accommodation for the 7Stanes
The Lodge provide mountain bikers with a low cost option from which to base their holiday.
We are situated right in the middle of 5 out of the 7 Stanes venues. With a large boat shed providing secure storage on site, drying room, washing facilities and bike stand we have all the facilities you require.
We can provide Large Mountain Biker Breakfasts from our cafe for £6.00. Offering a full Scottish cooked breakfast along with cereal, toast, tea, coffee and fruit. We are happy to arrange early sittings from 7:30 to allow you to leave early and get out on the trails.
Dark Skies Accommodation in the Galloway Forrest Park
The 75,000 hectare Galloway Forrest Park is the first area in the U.K. to be awarded Dark Sky status. The extremely low levels of light pollution make ideal conditions for night gazers and star spotters.
The Bunkhouse at the Galloway Activity Centre are situated right on the edge of the Galloway Forrest Park. The Raiders road is just opposite us on Loch Ken and is recognised as one of the top viewing sites. You can literally gaze out your cabin window at the starry skies above.
