RYA Windsurfing Instructor Courses
We run Windsurfing Instructor courses throughout the season, from Start Windsurfing Instructor, to Intermediate (Planing and Non-Planing). In conjunction with RYA Scotland we now also offer the Senior Instructor course. Please enquire for further details.
Making use of our excellent facilities and equipment, you will leave the course armed with all the tools you will need to run fun, safe and successful sessions.
Should you be required to brush up on your windsurfing skills, we recommend looking at our 2 week fast track option for best value.
2 week fast track Windsurfing Instructor course
For windsurfers with some experience we recommend our 2 week fast track option. This not only includes the pre-requisites but also 5 extra days of windsurfing tuition to bring your skills up to speed. The 2 week fast track option is great value for money even for experienced windsurfers.
Pre requisites (inc in 2 week fast track)
You must have all of the following to sit the RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor course;
Valid first aid certificate
Powerboat Level 2
Be 16 years or over
Valid Start (Level 1) Instructor ticket with 50 hours teaching experience
RYA membership
Level 3/Intermediate Planning personal sailing ability to become an Intermediate Non-Planning Instructor (or) Level 4/Advanced ability for Intermediate Planning Instructor.
In addition to this you must have RYA membership, and own a W33 Instructor handbook. All RYA publications are available to buy at the Galloway Activity Centre.
