A night time guided mountain bike ride around the Galloway Forest in the heart of the Dark Sky Park. Starting by loading the mountain bikes onto a powerboat for an exciting trip across the Loch then finishing with tired legs and well deserved hot dogs and warm drinks.

Throughout the trip you're Mountain Bike leader will guide you around the unfamiliar forest tracks and look after the safety of the group.

The ride is suitable for anyone who can ride for an hour or so and there's our backup rescue vehicle on stand by should someone need an emergency hot chocolate!

night ride how does it work

The night will start with a briefing where we'll kit you up with mountain bikes, helmets and torches and take a powerboat ride to the forest on the other side of Loch Ken. You'll be guided around some of the best forest trails Galloway has to offer. Time permitting we'll head up to the Otters pool or even the hidden cages before making our way back to the shore and heading back to the warmth of GAC.

Hot dogs and warm drinks provided either on route or on return.

night ride safety

Safety is our number one concern and our organised night rides are a great way to experience the thrill mountain biking at night in a safe environment. Your guide will have ridden the tracks both in the day and at night so there's no danger of getting lost and our support vehicle is on hand to deal with emergencies or swap a bike with a puncture so you can carry on enjoying your night.
