Dinghy Instructor (half board)

Price: £525.00

Dinghy Instructor Training Course Scotland

This is the 5 day RYA Dinghy Instructor Training course, booked as a half board option (including accommodation, breakfasts and lunches). The course is run by the Galloway Activity Centre on the lovely Loch Ken in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. We were established in 1988 and have now trained over 500 instructors, many who have gone on to take up senior roles at centres around the world - so you are in safe hands! We are unique in also offering the option (weather permitting) to add on a Sail Foiling introduction.

The course will be run by a coach assessor and moderated on the final day by a second coach assessor. You will be taught the RYA method and learn training techniques which will qualify you to teach a variety of sailing courses, both inland and coastal. See the list of courses you will be qualified to teach upon completion on the RYA website.

The course runs from Monday - Friday and this is the half board option (see below for info). Upon purchase of the course, we will contact you via email with your arrival and joining instructions.

Please note, the course requires a minimum of 4 candidates to be able to run and should this number not be reached, the course will be cancelled.

Pre-Requisites

You will need the following pre-requisites to sign up:

RYA Powerboat Level 2

First Aid Certificate

Pre-Assessment Pass

RYA Safe and Fun

Still need them? Book with us!

All of these (apart from Safe and Fun) are available at the Galloway Activity Centre. It's always a great idea to complete your pre-assessment in the same location as your course, and we also offer RYA first aid. If you would like to sign up for the first aid or pre-assessment then these run the weekend immediately before the course on Saturday (1st aid) and Sunday (pre-assessment). Choose these from the drop down menu if you would like to add them to your order. RYA safe and fun is an online safeguarding course and you can find out which websites run this on the RYA site.

RYA Powerboat Level 2 and Fast Track Courses

We also run RYA powerboat level 2 and a fast track instructor training course, which covers all your pre-requisites along with 5 days of sailing tuition to help you reach the standards required to pass the pre-assessment. Please contact us if you would like further information on this.

Half Board Details

You will be accommodated in either our bunkhouse lodge or loch side cabins from either the first day of your course or the night before. Accommodation will include a bed space, pillow and pillow case and you will be required to bring with you a sleeping bag or linen. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided each day but you will need to provide your own evening meal. There are basic cooking facilities available on site.
